Day 17 – Matthew 13: 44-46

Published by tg50-admin on

Our passage today is a familiar one that reminds us of our search for the pearl of great price who is Jesus. Or, for some, the treasure was stumbled upon in our searching some purpose in our lives.

With reflection, in a world that was lost, part of God’s plan was to send His son Jesus on the greatest restoration mission of all.

To seek and save the lost. You and me.

Jesus’ mission which He willingly accepted, was to come and live amongst us, to experience the hopes, fears and emotions that govern our lives on a daily basis. To seek out the pearls that are US.

He showed by His life and example that we are the treasure that is beyond any cost and to that end He paid the ultimate price for us. Death on the cross. So we may have that glorious hope of eternity.

In this world of so much trouble, Jesus would want us to follow His example to reach out to all our brothers and sisters, to do what we can to help and bring God’s love into their lives and shine a light in this dark world.

Our mission doesn’t have to be on another continent, just look around our street. Is there someone we can reach out to? Or in our town is there some place that can use our help?

Will you today ask for God’s guidance, on how He can use us to be His hands and feet, eyes and mouths for the extension of His kingdom here, in our own small neighbourhoods.

Dear Lord Jesus may I see the mission You have for me, and with the help of the Holy Spirit have the willingness to carry it out for the extension of Your kingdom in my small corner. Amen
