Day 30 – Luke 11: 33-36

‘To know Christ and make Him known.’ That’s the aim of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women. For something like twenty-five years I’ve had close involvement with, first, Women’s Network and now Methodist Women in Britain. This is the British Unit of the World Federation and so I keep that aim close to my heart.

Through Circuit, District and Connexional days and residential weekends I’ve been encouraged, enabled and equipped to grow as a Christian. On my journey I’ve been helped by the example of some amazing Christians – both women and men.

I’ve been encouraged and challenged to discover how I can use my gifts to serve God and serve others, both close to home and across the world. Through the power that God has for me, through the Holy Spirit, I’m trying to share the opportunities that are available to all women in the Methodist Church. By sharing with groups in churches and Circuits around our District, I’m giving them information about the opportunities that are available to them.

Many women and men have shone the light of Christ into my life and I know that I have to pass that on to others. I can’t be selfish and keep God’s love to myself. Through MWiB I’ve learned and, I hope and pray, grown as a Christian. I try to grasp every opportunity to encourage others to explore what Christ has in store for them.

Lord, help me to see the opportunities You give me to shine the light of Your love.
